Best time To visit

The best time to visit Namibia largely depends on your preferences for weather, wildlife viewing, and activities. Here are our recommendations:

  • May to October is considered the prime time for wildlife safaris. During these months, Namibia experiences dry weather, which causes animals to congregate around water sources, making them easier to spot. This is especially true in places like Etosha National Park, which is famous for its salt pans and large concentration of wildlife.
  • The shoulder seasons, March-May and October-November, are a good option if you’re looking for fewer crowds and slightly lower prices. You can still enjoy decent wildlife sightings and pleasant weather, but without the peak season rush.
  • June to September offers clear skies and cooler temperatures, perfect for exploring the country’s diverse landscapes, such as the Sossusvlei dunes in the Namib Desert. The sunrise and sunset over the dunes are particularly striking during this time.
  • December to May for exploring the Skeleton Coast, these months are more comfortable, and you can enjoy the dramatic landscapes without the extreme cold or wind of winter.
